Perelada Resort, located in northern Spain’s Empordà region just 20 minutes from the French border, integrates sports, luxury, history and winemaking. At its heart is Perelada Golf Club, a parkland course designed by Jordi Soler Peix that opened in 1993.

Spanning 5,173 to 6,638 yards with a par 71, the layout offers four sets of tees. The flat terrain makes it ideal for walking. Meticulous irrigation keeps the greens in pristine condition year-round.
Strategic play is required throughout the 18 holes. The round begins with a gentle par-4 dogleg, but the challenge escalates at the second hole — the course’s most difficult — due to a demanding water hazard and protective bunkers. The 18th hole features a spectacular finish with tee boxes situated on small islands in a pond, requiring a precise shot over water to reach a large, two-tiered green.
Núria Bech, golf director, noted the layout’s broad appeal: “Golf Perelada is designed for everyone — beginners enjoy its flat, friendly layout with multiple tee options, while experienced golfers appreciate the strategic design, natural beauty and high-quality greens. Beyond golf, the resort’s wine, spa, gastronomy and Mediterranean setting create a complete, sensory-rich experience.”
THE HISTORIC CASTELL DE PERELADA

The resort lifestyle is anchored by the historic Castell de Perelada. This majestic castle houses a library, a museum detailing the estate’s history and a glamorous casino.
Gastronomy is central to the resort, featuring several acclaimed restaurants, including a Michelin-starred establishment serving Catalan cuisine.
A short walk from the course, the five-star Perelada Hotel features a specialized Wine Spa. Guests can indulge in treatments based on the antioxidant properties of grapes and wine, offering a unique way to recover after a round.
SUSTAINABLE WINEMAKING AND ARCHITECTURE
No visit is complete without exploring the state-of-the-art Perelada Winery. Designed by Pritzker Prize-winning RCR Arquitectes, the facility was the first winery in Europe to receive LEED Gold certification for sustainable construction and energy efficiency. Built on a former farmstead, it blends modern industrial aesthetics with traditional viticulture.
Delfi Sanahuja, oenology director, explained the influence of the local terroir: “Empordà, a region shaped by both the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean, results in wines with unique identities. Perelada crafts wines that reflect the distinct character of its diverse estates, shaped by varied landscapes and microclimates.”
Visitors can take guided tours, view multimedia presentations and taste the estate’s acclaimed wines and Cavas. The winery also houses the Celler 1923 restaurant, where local ingredients are paired with the estate’s finest vintages. Whether visiting for the well-manicured golf course, the historic castle, the spa or the sustainable winery, Perelada Resort offers a comprehensive Mediterranean escape.
