Planes, trains and 5-fingered greens

Located in the heart of the Rhine-Main-Neckar region, Golfpark Biblis-Wattenheim offers a distinctive blend of sporting challenge and creative entertainment.

As one of the 10 premium facilities operated by Golf Absolute, this venue embodies the Rotation Golf concept — called Rotationsgolf in German — allowing members to play across all the group’s courses without additional green fees.

“With our rotation principle, we at Golf Absolute have consciously established a new approach in golf: one membership opens access to an entire world of golf,” says Dirk Weiland, managing director of Golf Absolute. “Our members can play flexibly — whenever and wherever they want — and experience an extraordinary variety of course characters in the Rhine-Main-Neckar-Saar region. It is exactly this combination of quality, freedom and experience that makes our brand so special.”

All venues provide full access to guest players as well.

A VERSATILE TRIPLE THREAT

The facility in Biblis, about 40 minutes by car from Frankfurt Airport and less than an hour from downtown Frankfurt, was established in the early 1990s and features three 9-hole courses — California Dream (par 36), Crocodile Dundee (37) and Arizona Life (38).

Each layout offers five rated tee boxes, and a combination of the Crocodile Dundee and Arizona Life courses stretches to a demanding 7,005 yards, catering specifically to long hitters.

“Golfpark Biblis-Wattenheim is characterized above all by its playful variety: different course characters, strategically designed holes, and well-thought-out practice areas ensure that every round offers new challenges and remains permanently exciting,” Weiland says. “Embedded in a spacious, park-like landscape, a special atmosphere is created that makes golf experienceable both sportingly and emotionally.”

CROCODILE DUNDEE: PRECISION AND LANDMARKS

This course is famous for its eclectic landmarks: a vintage DC 3 aircraft sits behind holes Nos. 1 and 9, while an old steam locomotive guards the ninth green. Despite its playful name, the course demands focus.

The second hole is a daunting 606-yard par 5 where water awaits on the left, though rolling hills often help slightly wayward shots return to the fairway. One of the most striking features is the third hole, a par 4 characterized by a wide rock trench. Golfers must decide from the tee whether to fly the canyon or take a more conservative three-shot approach.

The begins to wind down at the eighth with a shot through the Mannheim Gate and over water, and followed by a ninth hole guarded by tricky pot bunkers.

“ARIZONA LIFE”: SAND, STONE, AND STRATEGY

For those seeking a desert-inspired challenge, Arizona Life delivers a landscape dominated by rock, sand and water. The second hole is the course’s hardest, a 586-yard par 5 that wraps around a large pond. The layout is full of surprises — one of the most famous is the third with a 90-degree dogleg featuring a green designed in the shape of an outstretched hand with five distinct fingers. The eighth is known for its massive waste area and a 90-degree dogleg that forces a strategic choice between safety and aggression.

BEYOND THE FAIRWAY

The facility is equally impressive off the course. It boasts extensive training facilities, including a large driving range, a 9-hole short course and an 18-hole putting course. Non-golfing companions can relax by the small lake near the range — all accessible without any fee.

Whether you are a long hitter or a strategy enthusiast, Golfpark Biblis-Wattenheim offers a golfing experience that is as memorable as it is challenging.
