Plan now for lodging at Bandon Dunes later

When Mike Keiser broke ground on Bandon Dunes in the late 1990s, it was nearly impossible for the greeting card magnet to imagine a waiting list for anything related to the new resort — be it lodging or tee times.

But what started in 1999 with one course has grown to seven, the last of which — Shorty’s, a 19-hole, par-3 course — opened in 2024.

With the increase in courses, there has been tremendous growth in infrastructure, including lodging, but not at a fast enough pace. Therefore, as the resort did for 2026, a reservation drawing was recently announced for 2027.

The lodging process is broken up into four windows: January to March, with registration closing Sept. 14; April to May, with registration closing Oct. 20; June through October, with the window closing Dec. 28; and the final window of November to December, closing April 20, 2026.

For 2026, 42,369 participated in the lodging reservations drawing. However, with the continued popularity of the resort, expect that number to increase for the 2027 drawing.

Rates to play at Bandon Dunes vary depending on the season and whether you stay at the resort or in the surrounding areas of Bandon, Coos Bay or North Bend, where there is plenty of lodging available for 2027.
